Just over a year after the launch, we have used up the first container load of teddies – 12,960 teddies given away. It was just as well the second container load arrived a few weeks earlier!

Before the programme was launched, a pilot site was needed to test the programme and where better for the very first site than Gisborne, the first hospital in New Zealand to see the sun. Children were gifted teddies and the response was enormous.
